Kimu, operated by Anmar Aljarad, lets you permanently delete your account and associated data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and exactly what is removed and kept.
Delete from within the app
- Open the Kimu app.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account and data are deleted immediately, and you are signed out on all devices.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. There is no reactivation or recovery once your account is deleted.
If you no longer have the app
If you’ve uninstalled Kimu or can’t sign in, email support@kmoonproject.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete your account. We will verify your request and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the following from our active systems:
- Your profile and personal information — email, username, display name, biography, profile and background photos, phone number, birthday, and gender.
- Your login credentials and any linked sign-in (password and social-provider link).
- Your phone and email verification records (one-time codes and password-reset records).
- Your push-notification registrations (device tokens).
- Your feedback and support submissions, including any attached screenshots' link to you.
- Technical identifiers we held about you, such as the IP address recorded with photo contributions.
- All active sessions (you are logged out everywhere), and your unused invitation codes are permanently deactivated.
What is anonymized, not erased
Like most social platforms, content that is already part of shared conversations and feeds is permanently disassociated from your identity rather than erased. After deletion it is attributed to an anonymized, deactivated account that cannot be linked back to you:
- Your posts, photos, videos, comments, and likes — your name, handle, and photo are removed from them irreversibly.
- Your direct messages — messages you already sent remain visible in the other person's conversation, no longer linked to an identifiable profile. Your own copy of every conversation is no longer accessible to anyone.
- Your social graph — follows, blocks, and the idols/groups you stan — is disassociated from your identity and no longer functions.
- Your Sarang/points activity and gift history, which is retained in anonymized form for platform integrity (for example, creator earnings and leaderboards already credited).
If you want specific content fully removed (not just anonymized), delete those posts or comments in the app before deleting your account, or ask us at support@kmoonproject.com.
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups: residual copies in routine encrypted backups are purged within 30 days of deletion.
- Purchase records: records of in-app purchases and related Sarang/points transactions are retained as required for financial, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes, attributed to the anonymized account.
- Legal/compliance records: we may retain limited records for longer where required by law.
- Safety records: reports you submitted about other users may be kept in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of our moderation.
- Any remaining records are anonymized and no longer identify you.
About virtual items and purchases
Any Sarang or Points balance is forfeited on deletion and has no monetary value. Deleting your Kimu account does not itself issue a refund for past in-app purchases; refunds, where available, are handled by Apple or Google under their respective store policies.
